How we compared them

This page compares what each essence costs in Canada and what each brand prints on its ingredient list. We haven’t tested either on skin, so there’s nothing here about texture or results. Prices come from the October 2026 Price Index: COSRX was checked on October 5 and 6, mixsoon on October 10. The ingredient lists come from each brand’s own page, read on October 6, 2026.

Ingredient rows are marked as a tie. A shorter list or a ferment isn’t evidence that one essence is better.

Price: COSRX wins wherever you can buy both

COSRX sells 100 ml and mixsoon 50 ml, so the sticker prices mislead. Per 100 ml, COSRX is cheaper at both stores we found with the pair in stock:

• Stylevana (ships from Hong Kong): COSRX C$15.09 per 100 ml, mixsoon C$26.78.
• KBeauty Canada (ships from Mississauga): COSRX C$17.56 per 100 ml, mixsoon C$65.90, almost four times as much.

mixsoon’s lowest price, C$10.19 at Lakinza, was a promotion marked down from C$44.00 when we checked. Even at that price it works out to C$20.38 per 100 ml, still above COSRX’s lowest.

mixsoon is in stock at one more store, six to five, including Shoppers Drug Mart at C$35.00.

What’s printed on each label

COSRX Snail 96 lists 12 ingredients. Snail secretion filtrate is first, followed by betaine and butylene glycol. Sodium hyaluronate is 7th and panthenol 11th.

mixsoon Bean Essence lists 7 ingredients, tied with SKIN1004’s ampoule for the shortest list we hold. After water, propanediol and glycerin come four ferments, including lactobacillus/soybean ferment extract, the “bean” in the name.

The two lists share no ingredient at all. Neither lists fragrance.

Which to pick

• You want the lowest price per ml: COSRX, at any store that carries both.
• You want a Canadian warehouse: COSRX at KBeauty Canada (C$17.56), unless Lakinza’s mixsoon promotion is still running.
• You want a very short list: mixsoon, at 7 ingredients.
• You’re avoiding snail secretion filtrate: mixsoon, which doesn’t contain it.
