How we compared them

This page compares what each costs in Canada and what each label shows. We haven’t tested either on skin. Prices come from the October 2026 Price Index: Hada Labo was checked on October 10, Round Lab on October 5 and 6. Round Lab’s list is from its brand page (read October 6, 2026). Hada Labo’s is from Rohto’s Japanese ingredient page (read October 10, 2026), translated by us into INCI names.

Hada Labo calls this a lotion; in a Korean routine it fills the toner step. Ingredient rows are marked as a tie, because a longer list doesn’t make a better product.

Price: Round Lab at every shared store

The bottles differ, 170 ml against 200 ml, so per 100 ml is the fair measure. Three stores had both in stock:

• YesStyle: Hada Labo C$12.12 per 100 ml, Round Lab C$8.56 (29% less).
• SKIN.TO: Hada Labo C$12.94, Round Lab C$9.50 (27% less).
• THEKSHOP: Hada Labo C$16.47, Round Lab C$12.00 (27% less).

Two of Hada Labo’s three prices were markdowns when we checked: YesStyle’s was a timed 20% sale, and THEKSHOP’s was down from C$33.00. Round Lab was in stock at eight stores, Hada Labo at three.

What’s printed on each label

Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium lists 33 ingredients. Rohto says it contains eight types of hyaluronic acid, and the list names eight, starting with sodium hyaluronate at 7th. It also lists hydroxyethyl urea and several sugar-derived humectants such as sorbitol and xylitol.

Round Lab Dokdo lists 16 ingredients, including sea water at 8th, panthenol at 12th and four diols. It names no hyaluronic acid.

The lists share six ingredients: water, butylene glycol, pentylene glycol, propanediol, xanthan gum and disodium EDTA. Neither lists fragrance.

Which to pick

• You want the lowest price per ml: Round Lab, at every store that sells both.
• You want a hyaluronic-acid toner step: Hada Labo, with eight forms. Our hyaluronic acid page covers what the research says.
