BHA and niacinamide together: what the labels show
Most answers to this question are written by brands that sell one of the two. We can show something more specific: what the ingredient lists of products sold in Canada actually say. We read each list from the brand’s own page on 6 October 2026.
Some products already combine them
| Product | Betaine Salicylate | Niacinamide | List length |
|---|---|---|---|
| COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid | 3rd | 4th | 10 |
| Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum | 8th | 6th | 30 |
| COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser | 19th | not listed | 25 |
Sources, each read on 6 October 2026:
- The BHA liquid, from COSRX’s product page
- The Glow Serum, from Beauty of Joseon’s product page
- The gel cleanser, from COSRX’s product page Betaine Salicylate is the salicylic-acid-based ingredient these products use. Ingredients are listed from most to least, so an earlier position usually means more of it. The percentage is not published.
Two things follow:
- The combination is deliberate. Two brands sell it in one bottle. A trial of a cream combining salicylic acid and niacinamide is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov, so the pairing is being studied, not avoided.
- You may already be doubling up. Because the COSRX liquid has niacinamide fourth of ten, it sits near the top of that bottle. Adding a niacinamide serum over it gives you a second source of it. The gel cleanser is a rinse-off product and lists its salicylate 19th of 25, in the part of the list where order is not ranked.
What to do about irritation
The usual risk of a salicylic-acid product is dryness or stinging, and stacking more products raises it. We haven’t found a source showing that BHA and niacinamide cancel each other out. A sensible approach, and our view and not a medical recommendation:
- Add one product at a time and give it a couple of weeks.
- If you use the BHA liquid, check whether your serum or moisturizer lists niacinamide too.
- If your skin feels irritated, drop back to one of the two and see a pharmacist or dermatologist if it persists.
What it costs
If you wanted both ideas in separate products, here is the COSRX BHA liquid with the Glow Serum at every store that had both in stock in October 2026. Note that this pair doubles up on both ingredients.

Questions people ask
Can I use BHA and niacinamide together?
Yes. Several products put both in one bottle, including the COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, which lists Betaine Salicylate 3rd and Niacinamide 4th of 10 ingredients. If you layer two products, the more likely problem is using more acid or niacinamide than you meant to.
Does the COSRX BHA liquid already contain niacinamide?
Yes. On COSRX's own page, niacinamide is the 4th of 10 ingredients, right after Betaine Salicylate. A separate niacinamide serum on top would be a second source of it.
Should I wait between a BHA and niacinamide?
We found no source showing you need to. If your skin feels irritated, simplify first. Use one of the two, or alternate evenings, and see a pharmacist or dermatologist if it persists.
