What Health Canada’s databases show
We searched both of Health Canada’s product databases on October 10, 2026.
- Drug Product Database (DPD): no product came back for “Relief Sun”, “Beauty of Joseon” or “Joseon”. A wider sweep of every sun-named drug product on October 8, 2026 found no Beauty of Joseon product either.
- Natural-product licences (LNHPD): no licence names Beauty of Joseon or Relief Sun.
You can repeat the check in the Drug Product Database yourself.
A product can be listed under a name we didn’t think to search, so the number printed on the box is what counts. If yours shows a DIN or an eight-digit NPN starting with 80, look that number up.
What’s in it
The brand’s own page lists 42 ingredients, as we read it on October 6, 2026. Its sun filters, in the order printed, are diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (4th), ethylhexyl triazone (6th), methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol in nano form (7th) and diethylhexyl butamido triazone (11th).
None of the four is zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. Fragrance (parfum) and alcohol do not appear in the list, and niacinamide is 8th.
For how to read the order, see how to read a Korean ingredient list.
What stands out in our data
These notes come from Health Canada’s databases and the brand’s ingredient list. We haven’t tested the sunscreen, and we don’t rate SPF claims.
- No Canadian number, so no buy buttons. We list where products are sold only when a sunscreen carries a DIN or NPN, which is why this page has no prices.
- Its filters differ from the Canadian DIN sunscreens we found. Every one of the 17 Korean and Japanese-brand DIN sunscreens in our October 8 check lists homosalate. Relief Sun’s list doesn’t include it.
- All four filters sit in the top 11. The highest is 4th, behind water, dibutyl adipate and propanediol.
If you want a sunscreen with a Canadian number
Round Lab, Numbuzin and Anua, which we track for other products, each hold a sunscreen DIN. Our list of Health Canada-approved Korean sunscreens gives every number and its status.
